Psychoterapic Rehabilitation Center in Vilnius, Lithuania

The goal of this project was to help to solve a social/medical problem through architecture. The growing suicide victim numbers in Lithuania are highest in Europe. The road to that is a chronic depression. Sadly Vilnius have no profesional day care centers to cure depression using humane therapies, education and social interactions. The goal was to design one. PRC is located near the Psychiatric hospital in Vilnius city. It is an area full of vegetation and greenery furthemore the old town is very close to it. The building shape is reflecting on a natural hills and tree massive to create a metabolic cloud like shape that is a healthy thing to observe while having a chronic negative emotions. Building contains library, social room, SPA, yoga, music and visual art spaces also provides professional psychological treatment. Building was design acording to the book Architecture as Medicine by Lena From and Stefan Lundin.
